Two new casting announcements have been made public today for NBC’s upcoming Rosemary’s Baby mini-series. First off, we now know that the male lead character, Guy Woodhouse, will be portrayed by Patrick J. Adams, best known for his leading role on USA Network’s Suits. Woodhouse was previously portrayed by John Cassavetes in the original 1968 film.
We also have news on who will be portraying Roman Castavet, the devil-worshipping next-door neighbor of the Woodhouses. Jason Isaacs, best known to mainstream audiences as Lucius Malfoy in the Harry Potter films, has signed on to play the role previously portrayed by Sidney Blackmer. Isaacs is no stranger to the horror genre, having appeared in two Paul W.S. Anderson productions, Event Horizon and Resident Evil, as well as lending his voice to the video game Castlevania: Lords Of Shadow.
To reiterate what we already knew beforehand, Zoe Saldana will be playing the starring role of Rosemary Woodhouse, made famous by Mia Farrow. The Oscar and Emmy-nominated Polish filmmaker Agnieszka Holland (Europa Europa) will be directing, and both Scott Abbott (Queen Of The Damned) and horror vet James Wong (American Horror Story, Final Destination) are collaborating on the screenplay. Filming is set to begin later this month in Paris.
That’s all we know for now, but we will keep you posted on future significant cast updates and premiere date info.
