There have been few updates on the production of Fear Paris in the past year, an anthology horror film bound together by a common French setting. We may finally start to see more movement now that Steven Schneider, producer of the Paranormal Activity and Insidious series, has signed on as one of the producers.
Originally announced in 2010 as Paris, I’ll Kill You, this anthology boasted an exciting array of horror directors that included Joe Dante (Gremlins, the original Piranha), Vincenzo Natali (Cube, Splice), Paco Plaza (REC, REC 2), Ryuhei Kitamura (Midnight Meat Train), Christian Alvert (Pandorum, Case 39), David R. Ellis (Final Destination 2, Shark Night 3D), Christopher Smith (2007’s Triangle, Creep) and duo Björn Stein and Mans Marlind (Underworld: Awakening, Shelter).
Not much has been released to the public since that announcement. Fear Paris‘s official Facebook page announced the title change last year along with claims that this would be a transmedia effort that also included a graphic novel and a video game tie-in, but there have been no updates since then. We also cannot be certain that all of the originally-announced filmmakers are still attached. Vincenzo Natali and Ryuhei Kitamura’s names have been absent in news releases after the initial announcement. David R. Ellis sadly passed away last year as well, and it is unknown if his segment had been shot beforehand.
WME Global will be handing North American rights for Fear Paris, along with producer Laura Rister. We’ll keep you posted when more information becomes available.
